LAMKA, November 8: The Kuki Students’ Organisation, Churachandpur today conducted a one day exclusive interaction programme with local youth club leaders at the Kuki Innpi, Churachandpur, Tuibuang.
Agendas discussed during the meeting include night curfew for students appearing board exams this year, no to toy guns and firecrackers during the New Year festivities and organizing vocation porgrammes and other education oriented activities.
KSC, CCpur president Haupu Haokip said the student body had earlier pleaded to the State Education minister to look into the higher secondary schools of Tuibuang area, however, the minister couldn’t act due to the then election code of conduct which had been imposed ahead of the recent MP election.
The leaders present at the programme agreed to impose a curfew for students appearing for board exams from 5pm everyday starting November 10.
It was also decided that the onus of maintaining the curfew would lie with the block leaders, he said.
He also expressed concerned against the illegal construction of speed breakers which has become quite a safety hazard.
He also asserted that the KSO will do something on the issue of using proxy teachers by checking the schools.
