KANGPOKPI, September 16: Political dialogue with the Kukis is expected to begin shortly with assurance coming from the Union Home Ministry to the UPF and KNO delegates who are currently in the capital.

UPF Political Wing Convener Aaron Kipgen, who is one of the UPF and KNO delegates in Delhi while speaking over phone, informed that the UPF and KNO delegates met RN Ravi, who is the Interlocutor of the Naga peace talk in the capital and discussed the political issues of the Kukis.

`The discussion with RN Ravi is carrying great weight for the Kukis`, he said, adding that the UPF and KNO find noteworthy of the essence from the Government of India.

Aaron Kipgen further said that the Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh gave his promptness to start political dialogue with the UPF and KNO and put forward the Home Secretary to initiate political dialogue with the umbrella bodies at the earliest.

The UPF and KNO, the two umbrellas of the Kuki UGs have decided to pursue common political demand in its joint meeting at Churachandpur on September 13, he declared.

However, Aaron Kipgen declined to disclose what `Political Demand` the two umbrellas are going to pursue stating that it is too early to reveal it.

While cheering the collective and enthusiastic efforts of the Kuki civil societies, he asserted that all the affirmative and meaningful discussion with the Government of India and all the weight, the UPF and KNO delegates, achieved from the Central Government came from the unity and cooperative struggle of the Kuki civil societies including church leaders, chiefs, etc.

Meanwhile, the UPF Political Wing Convener said that the delegates of UPF and KNO also met with the Tribal Forum Manipur, Delhi in connection with the prevailing situation of Manipur and had weighty discussion along with sharing opinions and approach.

He also said that the Central Government is likely to send its delegates in Churachandpur to take stock of the situation and take up necessary steps in connection with the prevailing situation of Manipur.
