TAMENGLONG, October 6: A team of Tea Board of India visited Tamenglong district to inspect tea plantation in the district.
The team led by R Kujar, deputy director Regional Office, Silchar visited the district Headquarter and further inspected tea plantation especially in Tml Khunjao area where Tea Plantation are taken up by about 200 households.
However gainful Tea plantation could not done for lack of proper guidance and facilities in the plantation area of about 200 acres here.
According to the general manager of DIC/Tamenglong N Joykumar Singh , the district is known as Land of Tea and Oranges.
So a Common Facility Centre is coming up at Tamnglong, he said.
The Ministry of Medium and Small Enterprises(GOI) has already approved in principle to install the said CFC, he said.
This centre will help to promote the potential of Tea and Orange production at Tml.So Tea Board of India has been requested to suggest better ways to tap the potential available here, he continued.
The general manager, has also said that an `Incubation Centre` would be opened within this month of October at DIC office,Tml.
The concern Ministry has already sanction for the said centre, he said.
By opening this centre, many entrepreneurs would be benefited in this agro based richly grow dist.Training would be imparts to the entrepreneurs like medicinal plantation,tissue culture, mushroom plantation,Lemon,Stabia plantation etc, he observed.
