Imphal, Feb 29: Discovering the movement of UG cadres in Moreh town of Chandel district, troops of 9 Assam Rifles of 26 Sector under HQ IGAR (South) launched operation in the area and apprehended one KIA cadre on 28 Feb 2012. The apprehendee was identified as NO.KC 0573 SS Capt Hpauna Lahtoi alias Alizou,65 yrs,s/o Late Hpauna Nawhtoi,r/o Niou villa, Changlang dist, Arunachal Pradesh. One 6.35 mm Pistol with five live rounds was recovered from the apprehendee.
Later, the same troops carried out operation in Dalpatti,Moreh, resulted in and apprehension of one Myanmarese PREPAK cadre on 28 Feb 2012. The apprehendee was identified as SS Pvt Zawthoo alias Bilal,25 yrs,s/o Uolamung,r/o Tamu,No.1 Bazar,Myanmar. One AK 47 Rifle with five live rounds was recovered from the apprehendee.Both the apprehendees alongwith recoveries were handed over to Imphal West Police station.
Similarly, troops of 37 Assam Rifles and 15 Assam Rifles under HQ IGAR(South) launched joint operation in Khoiram of Chandel district and apprehended one PREPAK cadre on 29 Feb 2012. The apprehendee was identified as SS Cpl L Sachi alias Solendra,32 yrs,s/o Shakmacha,r/o Hichamkhonou and was handed over to Yairipok Police Station.
In yet another incident, troops of 36 Assam Rifles of 26 Sector under HQ IGAR (South) recovered 19 IEDs with 15 IED Necklace from track leading BP 57 on 28 Feb 12 and same was destroyed in situ.
