Imphal, Mar 7: The Governor Gurbhachan Jagat said in a Yaoshang message, “It gives me immense pleasure in greeting the people of Manipur on the happy and auspicious occasion of “Yaoshang” (Holi), 2012.
The festival of colours “Yaoshang”, is celebrated at the onset of spring and marks the rejuvenation of the spirit of life.
Celebrated with gaiety and enthusiasm, the holi festival exhorts us to forget our differences and spread the message of love, friendship and brotherhood and unity amongst us, irrespective, of caste, creed and religion. On this occasion, all of us should resolve to work together for upholding peace, communal harmony, brotherhood and unity in the society. This is the need of the hour and what our society calls for. I am confident that the festival will be celebrated in its true spirit.
While conveying my heartiest greetings and best wishes to all once again, I pray for peace and progress of Manipur and its people.”
