Commotion in the House

The ongoing budget session of the Manipur Legislative Assembly saw a very explosive moment on the 11th day today when heated argument exchanged between the treasury and Opposition bench.

The Speaker of the House had to intervene and pacify the situation to the heated argument between a minister and MLAs of Opposition bench around 11 pm.

The session started from 11 am but discussion on voting and discussion for demands for grants lasted till late in the night.

However, the situation turned uneasy when both the treasury and Opposition benches exchanged heated argument that the Speaker had to stand up from his chair.

The argument was exchanged during the discussion on demand No.15 consumer affairs, food and public distribution.

Later, the proceeding continued peacefully and the House unanimously passed four demands after the Opposition withdrew the cut mot.
