IMPHAL, Aug 23: Demanding revocation of the gazette notification excluding Scheduled Caste from the reservation of seats in respect to Phayeng Gram Panchayat under Sekmai AC for the upcoming State Panchayat Election to be held on October 7, Koutruk Apunba Nupi Lup and Koutruk Youth Development Club jointly staged a sit-in-protest at Koutruk meira shang today.
According to the protestors, the gazette notification is against the Panchayati Raj Act, 1994.
