Imphal, Aug 31: Tripura suffered a humiliating defeat by 0-13 against a formidable Meghalaya in the Sub-Junior National Football Champion-ship 2016-17 (NE Zone Qualifying Round) which is organised by the All Manipur Football Association with the support from the All India Football Federation, at the Artificial Turf Ground, Khuman Lampak.
The losing team put up a remarkable defence in the first half but Meghalaya unleashed terror in the second half, scoring all the goals in this half. Ferester Suling, who started the attack, led for Meghalaya with four goals. His first goal came in the 50th minute and the other three in the 55th and 75th minutes and in the additional time. Sangti (65′, 68′, 70′) and Benjamin (78′, 88′, 90+3′) added six goals to make it 11 for Meghalaya. Embaklang (64′) and Kharbuli (70′) scored a goal each.
