Imphal, Apr 27: Discovering the Processing of drugs in Moijing , troops of 28 Assam Rifles of 9 Sector under HQ IGAR(South) alongwith representative of Narcotic control Bureau and AIM carried out raid in a makeshift heroin processing laboratory at Moijing and recovered banned drugs and processing material on 26 Apr 12. Eight kgs of Opium,62 kgs of Lime stone Opium cake,41 tins of Lime stone, one kg of Ammonium chloride, One Processing machine, one pressing iron machine, three pairs of glows and one nose mask were recovered from the spot. The recoveries were handed over to Narcotic Control Bureau, Imphal.
In yet another incident, troops of 28 Assam Rifles of 9 Sector under HQ IGAR(South) launched operation at Lilong Turel Ahenbi and apprehended two drug peddlers alongwith 21,000 Nos of banned Pseudoephedrine tablets from a Tata Safari vehicle Regd No.MN 04A-7444 on 27 Apr 12.The apprehendees were identified as Ayub Khan,36 yrs,s/o Late Karimuddin,r/o Lilong Mayai Leikai and Amzad Khan,28 yrs, s/o Late Jaimuddin,r/o Lilong Haorebi Makha Lekai. Both the apprehendees alongwith recovery were handed over to Lilong Police station.
Similarly, troops of 24 Assam Rifles of 26 Sector under HQ IGAR(South) launched operation at Tegnoupal and apprehended one drug peddler alongwith 8 kgs (86,400 Nos) of banned Bromhexine tablet,8 mg from a Maruti van Regd No. MN 04-7490 on 27 Apr 12.The apprehendees was identified as Md Mansur,27 yrs, s/o Late Amzid Ali, r/o Ward No.5,Moreh and he alongwith recovery was handed over to Tegnoupal Police station.
Troops of 33 Assam Rifles under Red Shield Division, launched a special search operation in Sagang Bazar area in the morning of 27 Apr 2012 and apprehended one terrorist of UTLF group, namely Satkholen Khongsal, (age 26 years), r/o village Khomunnom, near IT road, Kangpokpi Ward No 12, Dist Senapati. On questioning, it was discerned that he is a hardcore cadre of UTLF group and was actively involved in tax collection, extortion and financial transactions for the outfit from Sagang area. The cadre has been handed over to PS Kumbi.
