Edn minister observes meeyamgi numit

IMPHAL | Sept 15

 Education, Labour & Employment Minister Shri Radheshyam Singh held meeyamgi numit at Laikol Community Hall, Heirok. The Minister said it has been observed at this single location the bringing all the people there so that they could obtain their required information from the respective department’s stall.

He pointed out that as most of the people are daily wage earners their one day’s time is very precious. So as to enable to save their time, money and energy the observation is being done at Heirok with the initiative of Deputy Commissioner. In the Meeyamgi Numit fourteen different departments under the Government of Manipur opened stalls providing services and information to people at the said location.

The heads of department themselves being present at the Meeyamgi Numit highlighted the different scheme, project and procedures on how they can benefit from the programmes under Government of India. The People’s Day was jointly conducted by district administration Thoubal and Heirok united. People from different places came to attend the people’s day.

The minster said overall there are ninety nine schemes being provided for the upliftment of the people from which they should be benefitted.

On today’s occasion of Meeyamgi Numit the minister met with the people at his residence also.

Later the minister attended the 24th Birth Anniversary Function at Yairipok Bamon Leikia Community Hall. In the function the minister said that the people of the state need to be encouraged reading books to regain the good qualities that define humanity. The religion, he said, is a way of life, which inorder to safeguard, the traditions of the religion needs to be institutionalized to utilize the religion for the betterment of the people and society.

In the function the minister released a journal and three books – 8th Edition of Thambal (Journal); Ayekpa Lai (poetry) by  Ibotombi Khumancha Durga Imagi Matik Mayai by Sh. Nabachandra Sharma and Laishramg Sagei Yumdaron Puya by Khuman Shamu.

The function was attended by Yairipok Thambalnu Sahitya Marup Cum Library Yairipok Raghubir Singh, Sahitya Bhushan & Noted Playwright K. Kalimohan Singh Sahitya Akademi Awardee Kshetri Bira, retired Principal Thoubal College N. Gandhar singh, scholars and locals.
