Imphal, Aug 14 : Discovering the movement of UG cadres in Ward No.9, Moreh of Chandel district, troops of 9 Assam Rifles of 26 Sector under HQ IGAR (South) launched operation in the area and apprehended one PREPAK (Pro) cadre on 13 Aug 2012. The apprehendee was identified as SS L/Cpl Kshetrimayum Robi Singh alias Pakhanglakpa (45), s/o Kshetrimayum Tombi Singh, r/o Kakching, Thoubal dist. One .32 Pistol with magazines and two live round were recovered from the apprehendee who alongwith recoveries was handed over to Imphal West police station.
In yet another incident, troops of 28 Assam Rifles of 9 Sector under HQ IGAR(S) launched operation in Top Dusssera and Yaranmam Nomaiching Makhom on 13 Aug 12 resulting in recovery of five Chinese hand grenades, seven No.36 M hand grenades and three RPG bombs. The recovered items were handed over to Porompot Police station for further destruction.
Meanwhile, A team of ninth AR arrested a cadre of PREPAK (Pro) from Moreh Tata Sumo Parking on August 12.
The apprehendee was identified as Leishangthem Ranjit (30) Moreh ward No. 7. One point 32 pistol, seven live rounds were seized from his possession. He was handed over to Moreh PS.
