IMPHAL, May 13: The All Manipur Students Guardian Organization (AMSGO)has called for strengthening and streamlining the education department by eradicating disputes. Addressing a press conference, S Sumati, Secretary AMSGO said directorate office is required to be cleansed thoroughly because its habit of consistent and nonstop misdoing in the education sector is the main reason for the mess in the education department.
“The injustice of the government in terms of transfer, posting and promotion policies not being duly followed in the education department since the last 20 years, is affecting the senior employees,” Sumati said.
She then added, those selected under SSA utilised in ZEO office and utilization of government teachers as AI and DI clearly shows that the education department does whatever it wants and follow no rule. The Association believes that the present education minister needs to screen the department carefully. It will become a bright and streamlined one only when all from the director of education (S) to school staffs are scaled up, she said.
Sumati continued that the employees are facing hardships as the teachers who dislike teaching utilized in zonal offices cannot complete the Manipur Government Employees List (MGEL) and Monthly Income Scheme (MIS)
She added that the abolition of joint director and additional director of Planning of education department has caused quite confusion and asked “How would a department be healthy when there is no planning?”
The education minister should work whole heartedly to produce good students for bringing a change in the society, she appealed.
The press conference was attended by N Chaoba Singh, H Borbabu, Kh Mahendra, and O Yaima Singh who are the Working President, Treasurer, Executive Member, and General Secretary respectively of AMSGO.
