IMPHAL, July 8: Students of Paonum Pakaleima Public School, Kiyam Sangaithel; Tharoijam Primary School, Tharoijam; Maklang High School, Maklang; Kachikhul Junior High School; Kachikhul; Sactam English Academy, Sangaithel staged sit in protests in front of their respective schools against the alleged rape of a 12 year old minor girl by her own uncle I Bobo (39) son of Kameshor of Tharoijam Maning Leikai a goldsmith by profession under Patsoi police station at around 10 pm of July 1, 2013.Speaking to media persons, a student said that the incident was very unfortunate and the students condemned such heinous crimes, and added that until the culprit is punished, the students will continue to demonstrate and agitate. The students further appealed to the concerned authorities to award the maximum punishment to the culprit.Meanwhile, MSF general secy RN Koireng said that there is an upsurge in crimes against women and children in the state and added that the student body will continue to launch agitations until the culprit involved in the rape case is punished.
