Imphal Jul 24 UNA: The Imphal airport was crowded as hundreds of fans stormed there to pay last tributes to the Indian Olympian from Manipur Lourembam Brojeshori Devi who died at a hospital in Tamil Nadu on Monday night.
The 32 years old first Olympian Judoka of the country passed away on Monday night after ailing from a disease at a Combator Hospital. She was in Tamil Nadu to join at her new posting place as an assistant commandant of the CRPF.
The lifeless body of the Olympian arrived at Imphal airport today forenoon where hundreds of people stormed to receive the soulless body. Among them was the five-time world woman champion Mary Kom, top officers of the CRPF and many other noted sports personalities of the state.
At the Imphal airport, fitting tribute was paid to the mortal remains of the sportswoman of the country.
