Imphal, May 24 : State karatekas M Soniya Devi and Kh Kishan Singh won a medal each in the National Karate Championship which was held from May 20 to 22 at New Delhi. In the championship, M Soniya Devi won a silver medal in the 68 kg Under-21 kumite event while Kh Kishan Singh bagged a bronze medal in the Junior 50 kg kumite event, said a press release issued by Manipur Amateur Karate-Do Association (MAKA).

Imphal, May 24 : The Army on Tuesday vowed to hit back hard on the militants who carried out an ambush which killed six Assam Rifles personnel in Manipur’s Chandel district on Sunday. “In counter-insurgency operation it is a matter of initiative and opportunity. They have been able to get this opportunity but it is not long before we hit back and we will hit back very hard,” Lt Gen Abhay Krishna, General Officer Commanding of 3 Corps, told reporters here.
