From Kaimuanthang
LAMKA, March 2: Tuanzalian, candidate of the Communist Party of India for Thanlon ac called a press conference today at his Simveng office questioning the state Chief Electoral Officer and Returning Officer for their failure to furnish details to the ECI of places where incidents of proxy voting have been reported.

Speaking to mediapersons during the conference, he said that the ECI had urged the CEO and RO to furnish details on the matter following 523 complaints made to the former by non-Congress candidates particularly during a meeting between the ECI and non-Congress candidates on February 27 at New Delhi. However they failed to furnish the same.

He further stated that the failure of the CEO and the RO to furnish the details have resulted in the announcement of re-poll at a polling station of CCpur where there are no complaints at all.                   He further questioned the CEO and RO on as to why no information has been provided to the ECI while further stating that ECI should not bow before the state CEO and RO who have been bowing under some political role players.

He said there are atleast 10 complaints at Thanlon ac about rigging of votes and proxy voting and further charged the ECI of taking a hasty decision in ordering re-poll without getting any specific reports of the areas where there is need for re-poll.

He said the same is true of all other polling station where complaints have been made but the CEO as well as the RO has failed to furnish details for reasons best known to them.
