IMPHAL April 21: A commando team of Imphal east arrested 3 KRA cadres yesterday. According to an official release the apprehended cadres are identified as Haobijam Khambaton alias Bicky ,27,s/o Dhananjoy of Yumnam Khunou Awang Leikaio, Mutum Gobin alias Nanao,20,s/o Modhuchandra of Chinkhu Mayai Leikai and Dongri Maram,20,s/o Daniel Maram of Senapati Maram Khunou. They disclosed on being active members of KRA outfit on questioning.

IMPHAL April 21: MAcha Leima observed its 42nd foundation day at its Palace compound head office today.According to a press release of the organization, the function was graced by Oinam Sarju, president of Macha Leima as the chief guest, while founder members, life members and other members attended the occasion and paid homage to departed founder president Chingakham Usharani by observing a two minute silence. IMPHAL April 21: Lallambung Takhellembam Leikai Youth Development Organization (LTYDO) in a press release by secretary Jinendra Maibam shows appreciation for the black topping work undertaken at present along RIMS road. TAMENGLONG, April 21:The Zeliangrong Elders’ Forum of Peace Broker, ZEFPB in a press release issued by Convener, Rev. N. Palmei condemn the factional fighting between NSCN(IM) and NSCN(K) that occurred on 18 April, 2011 at N-gam village, bordering Tamenglong and Nagaland in Zeliangrong area killing one cadre of NSCN(IM) and injuring one each of the ‘IM’ and ‘K’ cadres  . The forum called it unfortunate and regretted that if there been a little bit of restraint on both sides, the situation could have been averted.
The ZEFPB reminds that Puiluan Peace agreement of July 18, 2008 is being observed by all the Naga National workers in Zeliangrong Region. The forum regrets to see the two factions violating the agreement signed by them. The ZEFPB also strongly appealed to all concerned to observe the Puiluan Peace Agreement strictly in the interest of the public and not to repeat such unwanted action in future in the Zeliangrong Region.

The one day discourse was jointly organized by Manipur Committee for Social Concerns and Kuki Research forum. The function was attended by many dignitaries, well known personalities, intellectuals and scholars.

Speaking on the occasion as the Chief Guest of the function veteran congressman Rishang Keishing said `MLAs and bureaucrats think only of the ways to benefit from corruptions`¦ they don`™t think for the welfare of the public`. He added that nowadays corruption has become more and more of a problem.

M.Prithiviraj, MLA said as the Guest of Honour of this function that the root causes of corruption and extortion is poverty and lack of employment in rural areas.

C. Dongel, Ex-minister and Prof. Lal Dena were also present as the other guest of honour and president respectively.

IMPHAL, April 19: The Student Union of S Kumar Accupressure & Paramedical Research Institute has made fervent appeal to the powerful DESAM to lift the ban imposed on running of S Kumar Accupressure & paramedical Research Institute.

A press release of the union said the accupressure institute could be opened since the DESAM put complete ban following an incident on December 20, 2010. It said the ban imposed by DESAM has severely hampered academic atmosphere and there is fear of loosing one academic year if the ban is not relaxed at the earliest. The students union appeal DESAM to relax the ban as another examination is approaching and students are allowed to sit freely in the forthcoming examination.

IMPHAL, April 20: One hardcore cadre of KCP (MC) Lalheiba group was apprehended yesterday afternoon by a team of Bishnupur Police commando during an operation at Thanga Oinam Maning Leikai.

According to a release, the arrested cadre is identified as Oinam Ghana alias Inaocha alias Angou, 30, s/o O. Meino Singh of Thanga Oinam Leikai.

The release further said the arrested militant is working as S/S Bishnupur district commander. Police recovered one 9mm pistol with 4 live rounds from his possession, the release added.

The release further said that on preliminary interrogation the cadre revealed that he is a trained cadre of banned outfit PLA and later joined to KCP (MC) Lalheiba group in the year 2009.
