IMPHAL,May17: The State Blood Transfusion Council, Manipur, in a press release has express that it will issue free Entertainment Pass of the Miss Manipur Contest 2011 to the interested voluntary blood donors.

Donors can collect their pass from the Blood Bank RIMS Hospital and Blood Bank JNIMS by producing their respective blood donor certificate or blood donor card on or before May19 during office hour, it added.

IMPHAL, May 17: Altogether 12 women football player from Manipur who represented India and contributed to the success of Indian National Women`™s Football team in the 11th South Asian Games, 2010 and the 1st SAFF Women`™s Football Championship, 2010, both held at Bangladesh have been rewarded a sum Rs 50,000 each by the All India Football Federation.

A release of the AMFA said AIFF has intimated 12 women football player of Manipur to handover a cheque of Rs 50,000 each.

Names of the players are Th Tababi Devi, K Rebika, O Bembem, Ng Bala, A Romi, Y Kamala, M Mandakini, O Roshini, W Robita, L Ronibala, G Radharani and N Geetarani Devi.

Further, the AMFA informed all the 12 women football player to collect cheque from its office.

IMPHAL, May 17: The Swimming Federation of India has selected N Debeshwor Singh, swimming and diving coach of the SAI, SAG Centre, Imphal to participate in the Federation Internationale De Natation (FINA) Diving Judges Certificate Course to be held at Seremban, Malasia from May 20 to 24.

A release of the Manipur Swimming Association, while informing this said Debeshwor is the first swimming coach from Manipur to attend the FINA Diving Judges Certificate Course held outside India.

He will be leaving Imphal on May for the said course, the MSA release said.

It states that the threat of another hike in price of diesel, kerosene and cooking gas is a criminal attack on people when the vast majority of them are already in miserable conditions over the sky rocketing price rise of essential commodities. The party further calls on for a launch of vigorous struggles to compel the Government to reverse its decision.

IMPHAL May 15: The Yourabung Youth Club lift the final trophy for the first state level men’s open 9 a side football tournament, 2011 by thrashing Pukhao Juvenile Pioneers Club by 7-6 goals in the tie break. The final match was played today at LSIC ground, Lamlai. Both the team were locked at 2-2 during normal time and the score remain the same till the end of extra time and the match had to be decided through tie-break. In the tie-break, YYC scored 7 against 6 for PJPC. M Puremba Meetei, who was chief guest in today’s final match, presented the winning trophy to the team captain of YYC, Lamlai. The state level tournament started from May 1 and it was organized by Lamlai Students’ Ideal Club in association with the Lamlai Kendra Development Association at LSIC ground.

IMPHAL, May 15: Defending champion Manipur has crashed out of the 19th senior women national football championship after loosing to West Bengal in the tie-break. In keenly contested semi final match played today at Bhillai, Chattisgarh, Manipur was beaten 6-7 in the tie-break by West Bengal after both the teams were locked at goalless draw during normal and extra time. In tie-break too, both the teams were locked at equal goals and the match had to be decided through sudden death in which West Bengal eventually became luckier and move into the final.
