This syrup will protect your liver from the ill- effects of alcohol (many have died of liver cirrhosis while continuing with the same medication). This car is as fast as the wind (speed of wind not mentioned). The only pure cow ghee in the country (where cow milk is hardly available). The cream which will make you white in three months (nobody complains because of the stigma attached to the user). The herbal drink which will protract aging (not proven). Tea that will certainly slim you down; the same tea is prescribed to gain weight. The only toothpaste which will guard your teeth (no guarantee for shrinking gum). The capsule which will make you behave like a man ( meaning you normally behave like a female). Have this drink and you will live as long as you can (that means you will have a natural death).

Repeated atrocities on ‘Enghish’

Due to peer pressure and demand from the unscrupulous elements I am compelled to jot down this sequel (subsequent part of my last column). It is neither my pleasure nor privilege to run down the most widely and wildly spoken language of the world. It is a global truth that English language is spoken every nook and cranny (for the Englishmen it ought to be ‘every nook and corner’) of the world but in the way they want. The native speakers of English can’t punish or sue them or challenged or even rebuke them for speaking wrong and clumsy English. They can simply grumble and murmur.

Without any discernible intention I finally got a chance to go to Kakching Garden. We were 3 families in two cars. After a nice siesta we started late and we were not sure whether the garden would be open or not when we reached the place. I wanted to ascertain the position. Luckily I could confirm from the local MLA that the garden will remain open till late in the evening. We reached the garden at around 4 in the evening.

Film-makers, their father and wisemen

A few days back I had the opportunity to intrude in a felicitation ceremony of our national and international film awardees organized by the Manipur State Film Development Society and Cine Artists & Technicians Association, in MSFDC auditorium at Palace compound. It was a rare occasion to listen to the father of Manipuri Film movement Shri Aribam Syam Sarma who was the guest of honour of the solemn function.

Today, as a protest, the students of Tamphasana Girls Higher Secondary school and Johnstone Higher Secondary School together (to be more participative) may clean the areas in and around the Raj Bhavan (with permission). Take my word the police will not touch any of the students. Rather they will provide security and water to them and also monitor the traffic.
