IMPHAL, April 10: The School of Auxiliary Nursing Midwife and Female Health Worker, Imphal, Medical Directorate, Government of Manipur has conducted a `Capping and Lamp Lighting Ceremony` at Multipurpose Hall here today.

Speaking as the chief guest of the function, Director (Health/Mission Director State Health Society NHM, Manipur), Dr O. Ibomcha Singh stated that sincerity, honesty, dedication and sense of service are the essential qualities of a nurse and also to be one like Nightingale.

He advised the 20 students present during the capping ceremony to give their best service to the patience, to treat them like their own and also understand their problem.

He lauded the nurses that it is because of them that the Infant Mortality rate is going down in the state. During the ceremony, representatives of School of ANM/FHW submitted a memorandum to the Director (Health/Mission Director State Health Society NHM, Manipur), Dr O. Ibomcha Singh demanding to sanction two vehicles for commuting from hostel (Sanakeithel) to the Institute and appoint a Chowkidhar for the hostel.

Dr O Ibomcha Singh during the function itself sanctioned the amount for two buses and also assured to appoint a Chowkidhar at the earliest.

The function was also attended by Chief Medical Officer, Dr S. Bimola Kumari Devi as the president and Director at Family Welfare Services, Manipur, Dr K. Rajo Singh, Additional Director (MD) at Directorate of Health Services Manipur, Dr P. Shyam Sunder Singh, Nursing Superintendent, JNIMS, Porompat, P. Landhoni Devi and Registrar, MNC, Medical Directorate, K Ratna Devi as the guest of honour.
