NEW DELHI, May 7:Centre Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) organised the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (NEET) Undergraduate (UG) today in 104 cities across the country. Against 8,02,594 registered candidates last year in NEET-2016, with the increase of 41.42% in the number of candidates, 11,35,104 medical aspirants have registered for NEET-2017. To accommodate 11 lakh candidates in 104 cities, more than 2200 institutions were made the centres based on the credibility, reliability and infrastructure etc in these centres. A total of 11,38,890 students appeared for the exam including 1,522 NRIs and 613 foreigners, reported PTI.

IMPHAL, July 29: The Democratic Students’ Alliance of Manipur (DESAM) has today in a press release urged the concern authority to hold the cancelled MBBS/BDS examination 2013 so as to save the academic calendar of the medical aspirants and soon resolve the issue.

The student’s body has further said that the state Govt could cancel the MBBS/BDS exam in a hasty decision based on ground Supreme Court order and now the same Govt is playing delaying tactics on the order of the same Supreme Court which rejected the NEET result while further urging the Govt the reason for not holding the much awaited MBBS/BDS exam.

It is further said that the state cabinet should act in accordance with the sentiments of the 6000 medical aspirants who had all invested their hard earn knowledge for the preparation of medical entrance test. At the same time, the parents of the medical aspirants should not rely on law court as it will only complicate the issue, it said.
