Guwahati, April 2, 2015: At 12:25 pm today, Vistara took its inaugural flight from New Delhi to Guwahati. This new route marks Vistara’s foray in to the Eastern and North Eastern sectors and starting today, Vistara will operate daily flights on the Delhi-Guwahati-Bagdogra-Delhi route. In a span of three months Vistara has already expanded its operations with the addition of Goa, Hyderabad and Pune to it route network. Guwahati, the gateway to the northeast, is the largest and most cosmopolitan city in Assam and serves as the starting point for most northeastern itineraries. After a brief stop-over at Guwahati, the flight will proceed to Bagdogra at 3.20 pm, the quaint town in Darjeeling which is a popular tourist destination in India. The return flight to Delhi will be directed from Bagdogra on the same day.

Speaking on this occasion, Mr PheeTeik Yeoh, CEO, Vistara said “We’ve had lots of customers asking us to fly to the Eastern India over the past month, so we’re delighted to launch this new route in response to the customer demand. The addition of this route reaffirms our commitment to promote regional connectivity in India,and contribute to the Government’s effortstoboost trade and opening up development avenues for people in these regions. We are very happy to expand our operations to both Guhawati and Bagdogra and we feel that improved travel prospects will provide these cities with the rightful visibility they deserve.”
Vistara now flies from Delhi to sevendestinations- Mumbai, Ahmedabad, Goa, Hyderabad, Guwahati and Bagdogra, between Mumbai and Ahmedabadand will soon commence flights to Pune from April 9, 2015. With five aircraft already in operations, Vistara’s fleet will grow to six aircraft this month and nine aircrafts by the end of this year. As part of its focused expansion plan, Vistara will soon add more destinations and exciting enhancements to itsproduct and services offerings.
