DESAM flays

Democratic Students’ Alliance of Manipur (DESAM) has strongly condemned the reported rape of a 15-year old girl near Viewland Colony, Senapati.
In a statement, DESAM conveyed readiness of its volunteers to donate required amount of blood to the victim girl who has been treated at Raj Medicity.
The students’ body has also urged the Government to extend possible help to the victim girl. DESAM further demanded fitting punishment of the perpetrators, saying that instances of crimes against women are on the rise due to reported absence of punishment to the perpetrators.

MFO general secretary Johnson Mangang said that titular king Leishemba Sanajaoba launched an awareness poster campaign on July 26 with the primary of objective of minimising abuse of intoxicating substances in the State.
Taking serious note of the death of four persons after consuming local liquor at Oinam Sawombung, Johnson urged the State Government to investigate the matter thoroughly and pull up anyone if there is any foul play.
