One CRPF jawan has gone missing while travelling from Motbung to Imphal on May 20 at around 1 pm.
A press release issued today by the SI of Imphal police station stated that the CRPF jawan, identified as Head Constable D Shivrama Krishna, Number 981139128 of 143 Battalion CRFP, went missing while travelling from Motbung to Imphal and could not be traced till date.
It is highly suspected that he might have been abducted by some unknown person (s), it added.

Enraged Milk Union farmers of Central Dairy plant located at Porompat, today, broke the lock of the plant after it was found closed by some unknown miscreants today and have condemned the act.
Speaking to media persons, secretary of Milk Product and Supplier Cooperative Society Ningthoukhong, P Gyaneshwor said that the association strongly condemns the closing of the dairy plant and the dairy farm by some unknown miscreants and added that the milk farmers/ producers work hard to supply the milk and earn their livelihood.
Alleging that the former Board of Directors, Managing Directors and Chairpersons of Manipur Milk Cooperative Union might have a hand in closing the Dairy plant today.
The association strongly condemns such actions which are taken up against the welfare and benefit of the milk producers and farmers, he added.

The Thangal General Sagei Committee has urged the authority concerned to maintain the statue of Thangal General situated at the traffic island of RDS crossing, Palace Gate. A press release issued today by the general secretary of the committee stated that the statue was constructed by the Government of Manipur in 2009 as a mark of respect and in memory of Thangal General, a hero and patriot who sacrificed his life for the freedom of Manipur. It further explained that the people of the State worship the statue on August 13 (Patriot’s Day) every year and the structure is visited by locals as well as tourists during Sangai festival and other religious festivals and as such the site needs proper maintenance and beautification work.

Strongly condemning the transfer of 44 teachers including Principal and Vice-Principal of TG Higher Secondary School, students of the school tried to storm Raj Bhavan today.
A large number of students of the school marched towards the Governor’s bungalow from its campus. They were stopped by security personnel deployed at the area.

IMPHAL, Jul 19 : Chief Minister N Biren Singh has ordered the DGP to investigate the issue of a RIMS staff allegedly harassing media persons who went to gather news in connection with a complaint about charging dialysis fees from a patient despite the implementation of Prime Minister National Dialysis Programme in the State and to take up necessary action against those involved.
The Editors’ Guild, Manipur has strongly condemned the act of mistreating reporters by RIMS staff and said that it is a direct challenge to the freedom of the press. EGM demanded appropriate action against the erring employees of RIMS.
The Reporters Forum, Manipur (REFORM) which has recently been revived has also strongly condemned the incident.

Empty trucks which came from the direction of Imphal were first allowed to cross the bridge.
