IMPHAL, Jul 11: Shija Eye Care Foundation in collaboration with All Manipur Senior Citizens’ Welfare Association, Imphal organized a comprehensive eye camp at Old Age Home, Mongsangei, Imphal West district yesterday. 44 people were examined for eye related problems. 16 cataracts, 1 pterygiums, 1 FFA and 1 OCT were diagnosed during the camp. Dr Kh Vikram, consultant ophthalmologist along with other supporting staff of Shija Eye Care Foundation examined the patient. 11 cataract patients were transported to Shija Eye Care Foundation, Langol for the corrective surgery on the same day, a statement issued by assistant manager (business development) of SHRI said.

IMPHAL, Jul 1: Shija Hospital and Research Institute (SHRI), Langol observed the National Doctors’ Day today at the institute’s auditorium to honour the contributions of renowned physician, Dr Bidhan Chandra Roy. Dr Bidhan Chandra Roy, also former CM of West Bengal, was born on July 1 in 1882 and passed away on his birthday in 1962. Dr Roy was honoured with the country’s highest civilian award, Bharat Ratna on February 4, 1961.
