Imphal, May 11 : The results of HSLC examinations conducted by Board of Secondary Education Manipur and HSSLC examinations conducted by Council of Secondary Education were declared today. In HSLC examinations, Ch Achouba of St Joseph got the first position, while Chingkhei Wangjam of Don Bosco secured second position while M Valentina of Little Flower got the third position.
The pass percentage was 70 compared to 71 last year. A total of 30277 students were enrolled, 30050 appeared, 7051 passed in first division, 12654 in second division and 1442 in third division.
In the HSSLC exam a total of 19482 appreared, 6972 passed in first division, 8005 in second division and 1022 in third division. The pass percentage was 82 percent.
In Science stream A Langlen of HRD got the top position . A total of 13590 students appeared and 6066 passed in first division, 5195 in second and 192 in third division. The pass percentage was 87.
In Arts stream L Kiyamba of Enlighten English School got the first position. A total of 5350 students appeared, 825 passed in first division, 2606 in second and 781 in third division.
In Commerce stream L. Thibuni Chachei of Mt Everest , Senapati got the first position. Only 542 students appeared and 36 passed in first division, while 204 passed in second and 49 in third division. The pass percentage was 53.
A girl from Senapati district is a topper in commerce. L.Thibuni Chachei daughter of PF. Loli of Taphou Pudunamai Village from Mt.Everest Hr.Sec. School, Senapati, created history by securing the 1st position in the commerce stream in the examination conducted by Council of Higher Education Manipur.
Miss Thibuni is the daughter of Taphou Pudunamai ex-pastor Pf. Loli and Losa who is serving in Sericulture department. Excelling among 5 siblings, Thibuni completed her matriculation from Don Bosco High School, Senapati. She aspires to become a prestigious Chartered Accountant.
She was away collecting firewood for her household when contacted for this interview.
An adherent Christian faithful, she studies 11 to 12 hours a day and prays every morning for divine’s blessings and grace. Her greatest strength is her guiding parents, friends and most importantly her Commerce teaching faculty guided by her principal. Thibuni wishes to pursue her B.Com studies in Delhi University and achieve the Chartered Accountancy very soon. “Even though I secured only 2nd division during my matric exam, I gave my best and achieved this rare honor and achievement. Everything is possible if you give your best labour coupled with will to achieve it”, the topper said philosophically.
