Imphal, May 14 : 30 Assam Rifles of 9 Sector under HQ IGAR(S) organised a medical camp on 14 May 2012 at Sairemkhul Palangsoi village in the Imphal West district. The idea of camp was conceived due to poor medical infrastructure in the villages which are away from the main hinterland. The camp was organised on a large scale to render the basic medical aids to the villagers residing in the area surrounding Sairemkhul Palangsoi village. Approx 184 patients were rendered medical attention and free medicines were also distributed to them
In another occasion, 35 Assam Rifles of 26 Sector under HQ IGAR(S) organised a lecture on ill effects of liquor and drugs at Khullen village on 13 May 2012. More than 143 persons including representatives from various organizations attended the event. A team of medical officers and paramedical staff of 9 Assam Rifles of 26 Sector under HQ IGAR (South) organised a Medical Camp at Moreh of Chandel district on 12 May 2012. More than 180 persons from Moreh and nearby areas were benefited from the camp.
An interactive session was also organised with the villagers and they were educated about various diseases including AIDS, Dental problems, malaria and precautionary measures. The camp was a huge success and including children and women patients were rendered medical attention and medicines were also distributed to them.
