Imphal, August 22 MNS NNN: A highly decomposed body of a non-local was found in the Imphal River section of Sekmaijing Thongkhong under Kakching Police Station in Thoubal district this afternoon.
The body of Dasharath Ram aged about 40, son of Mahendra Ram, a native of Bihar’s Muzafarpur, was spotted by some locals of Sekmaijing Thongkhong who were taking bath in the river around 1 p.m.
Dasharath was staying in a rented house at Nagamapal Eshing Chaibi and stayed there for a couple of years before he was found dead Wednesday, according to a police report.
The report said a team of Kakching Police Station recovered the body and later identified it. The body, which was found wearing only an underwear, was in a highly decomposed state, it added.
Whereabouts of Dasharath was unknown since he went missing after going out from the house to take bath in the Imphal River around 9 a.m. of August 19, the report said, adding he was not a good swimmer
