IMPHAL, Sept 3 MNS : Federation of All Tribal Youth Clubs, Manipur (FATYCM) has urged Chief Minister O Ibobi and Minister of Tribal Affairs and Hills to make Directorate of Tribal Affairs (Tribal Affairs division) healthy . The federation further alleged that there have been several anomalies which becomes a systematic exploitation in nature in the said department.
The FATYCM urged both the chief minister and the Tribal Affairs and Hills minister to give their attention in the concerned department by taking up some corrective measures. If this is not done, the Federation said it has no option but to take up stern form of democratic agitation in the hills of Manipur.
FATYCM demanded for immediate cancellation of orders of, August 27, 2012 and August 29 saying that these orders are nothing but the utter violation of the spirit and provision given by the government of India enshrined in the Tribal Affairs and Hills(Tribal Affairs Division) as model code of conduct is enforced in the state of Manipur.
According to the Federation, the post of DDO and PMS should be allotted to and be given to the tribal officers. The recent order of August 29 is against the provision and utter dismay of the Tribal of the state, said the FATYCM. It is also a glare violation of the provision given to the department, it added.
FATYCM then demanded for one man, one post in the department. This, if implemented would bring more justification, the Federation said. The FATYCM also demanded that the unpaid remaining arrears and post-matric scholarships must and should be paid without any further delay. It is observed that non-payment of post matric scholarship is nothing but harassment to the poor students, the Federation terms.
Earlier, students who study theology in various religious groups were given scholarship. We demand that they should also be given the same scholarship as it is done in other states of India, the FATYCM suggested.
“Lastly, we demand, in order to streamline the messy affairs prevailing in the department, a separate and independent commissioner for Directorate of Tribal Affairs and Hills(Tribal Affairs Division), at the earliest,” the FATYCM said.
