Prof S. Sekharjit, Director, RIMS, Prof N. Damayanti, Principal i/c of College of Nursing and other senior officials today welcomed Debajani Ahongshangbam who has joined College of Nursing as the Vice- Principal. She had been an Assistant Professor in Regional Institute of Paramedical and Nursing Sciences, Mizoram.
Prof Sekharjit said that the VP shall be in charge of all academic activities. However Prof Damayanti shall be in charge of the administrative affairs till a full fledged Principal is appointed. The interview of the appointment is expected soon. He further said that the nursing students face stiff competitions from two other institutes in the state. He exhorted the students to outshine students of other institutes in the coming examinations.
Expressing his satisfaction over the developments in the college in the last two years he reminded the students that the officials of the Indian Nursing Council shall be visiting once the fourth year students will have to sit for the final examination. On the basis of the report of the INC inspectors permanent affiliation will be given to College of Nursing, RIMS. If it is done the post graduate course will be opened.
The Director further said that equipments and nursing books have been bought in abundance and efforts are on to expedite the ongoing constructions of hostels and offices of the college.
