Guwahat, Sep 19: The Central Bureau of Investigation has today arrested five accused persons in a case related to violence in certain places of Assam.
The arrested five accused persons are being produced today in the court of Special Judicial Magistrate, CBI, Guwahati.CBI had registered this case on 10.8.2012 relating to the alleged lynching of four Bodo youths by a mob in Police Station Kokrajhar(Assam).
CBI had taken up investigation of seven cases including the instant one relating to recent incidents of ethnic violence in certain places of Assam on the request of the Government of Assam and further notification from Govt. of India. These cases were earlier registered by Assam Police.
Further investigation in these cases is continuing to identify the other perpetrators and conspirators of the incidents of ethnic violence.
