Imphal, Sep 20 : Extortion, bomb attacks at residential areas are all handiworks of troops and those who took part in surrender drama the UNLF today alleged. It labelled them as ‘Tamnalai’ (ghost). The ghosts were used to carry out proxy war by arming them.
Fake encounters reported during the last one and half month have also exposed everything. Manipur Police personnel allegedly killing S Tongpu in fake encounter on Aug 28 at Senjam Chiraang for alleged involvement in kidnapping of Mangalam plywood factory, accountant Radhakrishna.
It was further charged that Tongpu was called out by two surrendered cadres who were staying at AR post. It further alleged that two girls from Leimaram were kept by an AR Major.
On Sep 5 at Khokan Khul, Takhellambam Romeo and Laishram Rajeswar were killed. On Sep 16 Takhellambam Govin was killed after being called out by Aken who had taken part in a surrender function. Many youths are kept in AR camps by luring them with job. If they can not be used they are killed by branding them as militants it was alleged.
The troops can not give fitting reply for all the activities it was claimed.
Should people remain silent it was asked. There are people who can sell off their freedom for money but national freedom can not be compromised it was added. Divisive forces can be defeated by the people said Ksh Yoiheiba, Senior Publicity Officer , UNLF in a statement today.
