IMPHAL, Sept 22: Personnel of Narcotic and Affairs of Border (NAB) has seized 120 kg of contraband ganja from an individual carrying it in an auto-rickshaw from Lamlong Bazaar near traffic island, Imphal East yesterday.
Ngangom Ibomcha, 35, son of Ng Iboyaima of Sekta Mayai Leikai under Lamlai Police Station in the district, the driver of the autorickshaw bearing registered No. MNO 1 Y 8796 owned by one Ng Roben of Sekta Mayai Leikai was arrested along with the 120 kg of ganja packed in five gunny bags from Lamlong Bazaar by a team of NAB led by Inspector RK Bikramjit, Officer-In-Charge, NAB Police Station around 9:45 am Friday. The seizure was carried out by the NAB personnel under the supervision of Superintendant of Police, NAB. The seized contraband ganja may cost around 1 lakh rupees in local market, OC Bikramjit told journalists at the NAB Police Station here on Saturday.
For further investigation, a regular FIR case has been registered against the arrested individual, he informed.
