IMPHAL, Oct 14 DIPR: The First Cultural Exchange Programme organised jointly by North East Zone Cultural Centre (NEZCC), Dimapur, All Colleges Tribal Students Organisation, Manipur (ACTSOM), Department of Art and Culture, Govt of Manipur and hosted by Thadou Students Association, Sadar Hills was held at Jubilee Hall of Presidency College, Motbung today where Hill Area Committee (HAC) chairman Chaltolien Amo, chairman of Sadar Hills ADC Haokholal Hangshing and others attended the function, according to a press release issued by DIPR.
According to the press note, HAC chairman Amo had exhorted that students should be serious about discipline and stated that education is the most important thing for students. He then said that though students should also take part in cultural and other social activities but they should give priority to education. Chaltolien Amo then urged the gathering students to work hard in order to bring peace and harmony in the society.
Meanwhile, the programme was held so as to preserve the culture and tradition of the tribal people and to to bring together all communities through culture and also to promote peace.
The function was participated by different dance troupes from schools and colleges representing different communities, according to the DIPR press note.
