IMPHAL, Oct 16 MNS NNN: Rich tributes were paid to former Manipur minister Md Allauddin Khan, who died of cancer at Dharmasala Cancer Hospital, New Delhi yesterday, with state honour at the state Congress Bhavan in Imphal on Tuesday.
Chief Minister O Ibobi led his council of ministers, Congress MLAs and other party members in paying tributes to the late Congress minister who held the post of Rural Development & Panchayati Raj and MOBC twice in two different terms.
Allauddin was a true leader of minority Muslim community with exceptional leadership quality, the chief minister lauded him saying the former Congress leader did a lot of momentous works for the people of Manipur.
Ibobi described the death of Allauddin as a great loss not only to the minority community and Manipur but also to the Congress party, declaring that his death will bring bareness in taking up activities of the party.
Manipur Pradesh Congess Committee (MPCC) president and home minister Gaikhangam stated late Allauddin who became minister twice in two terms of the Congress led Governments took major role and executed significant works for the welfare of the minority community and the people of Manipur as well.
Gaikhangam hailed Allauddin as a man who had sacrificed for the Congress and worked devoid of discrimination on the ground of religion, caste and race stating the vacuum created by his death can never be filled.
Allauddin died at the age of 53. He is survived by his wife, four sons and two daughters.
Meanwhile, tributes flood in for former minister Md Allauddin Khan who died in New Delhi yesterday.
Chief Minister Ibobi in a condolence message released from the CM Secretariat expressed that he was deeply distressed to hear the sad news of the demise of former minister Md Allauddin Khan.
Allauddin was a man of great political vision who worked for the upliftment of poor and the downtrodden, the chief minister said and added he must always be remembered for his dedication, sense of public service, innate simplicity and honesty. The state has lost an excellent political leader, Ibobi said.
“I convey heartfelt condolence to the members of the bereaved family and pray to the God to give them strength to bear the irreparable loss,” the chief minister mentioned in the message.
In a separate condolence message from Manipur Congress Bhavan, MPCC president Gaikhangam expressed his grief over the death of Allauddin stating that the demise of the former minister is a great loss to the people of Manipur.
Imphal East Distt Congress Committee has also condoled the death of Allauddin and shareds the grief of the bereaved family.
