New Delhi, Oct 26 : Union Minister of State for Home Affairs, Jitendra Singh has said that Government is committed for development of Manipur and to resolve all issues responsible for violence in the region. Speaking to a group of students on National Integration tour under Operation Sadbhavna by Assam Riffles, he said that building and repairing national highways in the state to improve connectivity is on the priority of the government. Sharing experiences of his own life with school children of Moreh he said “how we can contribute in other’s life is our success in life”. The Minister also lauded Assam Riffles for Operation Sadbhavna and said that this trip will change the children’s outlook towards their country, society and life. Shri Jitendra Singh also promised to the students that he will visit Moreh in near future.
The tour is being conducted by Assam Riffles. The group consists of 20 school children form border district Moreh of Manipur. These children had come to Delhi on October 19, 2012 and will be visiting different places in Delhi and around upto October 28, 2012. Assam Riffles organizes such tours as a part of “OP Sadbhavna” basically aiming at winning heart and mind of local population. The Group included children of tribes/communities who have no exposure to urban life. Such tours provide opportunity to children of far flung areas to widen their horizon by also meeting important national personalities. Visit to places of historical and educational importance also adds to their imagination.
