MNS: Major General UK Gurung, YSM, IGAR(South) visited Nampisha, one of the far flung villages on Indo-Myanmar border on 02 Nov 12. He interacted with prominent locals and youth of adjoining areas.and complimented and exhorted them for their continuous support to the Assam Rifles.
Medical team consisting of medical officers and paramedical staff of 42 Assam Rifles of 26 Sector under HQ IGAR (South) conducted a medical camp at Chandel on 02 Nov 2012. More than 100 patients from Chandel and nearby areas were diagnosed and provided medicines. An interaction session with villagers also organized by the Medical officers in which they were educated on HIV/AIDS, malaria, seasonal diseases and its precautionary measures to overcome such disease in future..
