AIZAWL, Nov 9 NNN: A book on the biography of Mizoram chief minister Lal Thanhawla entitled ‘Lal Thanhawla’ compiled and written by former journalist and activist David M Thangliana was released today by state Home minister R.Lalzirliana at Regency Hotel Conference Hall here.
Releasing the book on Lal Thanhawla, R. Lalzirliana said Lalthanhawla is a man of strong personality, who is a good man both as a Mizo and an Indian. Home minister expressed his gratitude in releasing a book on such a great man.
The writer of the book David M Thanglian said that he began to write the biography of Lal Thanhawla since 2010. Interestingly, he managed to meet Lal Thanhawla only on three occasions. However, he consulted around 20 books in order to know Mizoram and politics and other necessary details. Besides, he met brothers of Lal Thanhawla and also the chief minister’s wife Rii. David Thangliana also said that the book that he has compiled is worth reading for those who want to do research. He also mentioned that he has committed some mistakes in the book such as the marriage date of the chief minister.
The book reviewer R.K.Lianzuala said, “David M Thangliana has written the biography in a very very nice and in a very lucid way so much so that the book is interesting”.
Meanwhile, chief minister Lal Thanhawla said that there were some people who wanted and tried to write about him but he was not interested with them. He said that David has come out successful because of his sheer determination and insistency.
