IMPHAL, Nov 10 NNN: The Tangkhul Naga Long (TNL), the apex body of the Tangkhul community has expressed its anger over the dumping of a dead body by the security forces personnel in Ukhrul district after the alleged fake encounter.
Hijam Babu, who was pulled up from Andro Kharam Leikei under Imphal east police station by the combined team of Imphal East commondos and the 28th Assma Rifles on November 2 was shot dead and brought the dead body to Ukhrul near Lunghar village on the pretext of fake encounter, alleged Solomon Ningshen, president of the Tangkhul Naga Long.
“It has been made very clear that the state and central forces had involved in the sinister designed to create enmity amongst all communities and particularly targeting some particular community.
“Late Mr. Hijam Babu, who was pull up from Andro Kharam Leikei under Imphal East Police Station by the combine team of Imphal East Commondos and the 28th Assam Rifles on 2nd Nov, 2012 was shot death and brought his dead body at Ukhrul near Lunghar Village on the pretext of fake encounter.
“The armed personnel were supposed to be the guardian and keeper of Law and Order in the state but have rather promoted evil design to invoke violence amongst the communities of the state which shall never ever be tolerated,” stated Solomon Ningshen.
The authority concerned is therefore urged to take up stringent against those erring armed personnel involved in the incident, the TNL president added.
Solomon Ningshen then warned that the Tangkhul Naga Long will be compelled to take up its own course of action if the matter is not clarified. “Why the dead body from such distance of other district is dumped in Ukhrul district?” the TNL chief asked. The TNL once again appealed one and all not to repeat such incidences in future.
