MNS:- Renowned Polish filmmaker Krzysztof Zanussi known for producing acclaimed films like Camouflage, Family life, The Silent Touch, The Contract and Revisited will be honoured with the prestigious Lifetime Achievement Award at the 43rd International Film Festival of India (IFFI) in Goa beginning tomorrow. The Award is conferred on an eminent international film personality for outstanding contribution to the world cinema and it carries an amount of Rs10 lakh, a scroll , a shawl and a certificate. Information and Broadcasting Minister Shri Manish Tewari will present the Lifetime Achievement Award to the 73-year-old Zanussi during the opening function of IFFI here on November 20.
Zanussi is a professor of European film at the European Graduate School in Saas-Fee, Switzerland where he conducts a summer workshop. He is the director of the Polish Film Studio TOR and has received several prizes and awards. Some other prominent films by Zanussi include The Structure of Crystal (1969), The Spiral (1978), Constant Factor (1980). Zanussi’s works are often described as intellectual and deeply philosophical.
