IMPHAL, November 26: Unidentified person(s) lobbed and exploded a hand grenade at the residential gate of a contractor identified as Khundongbam Surjit, 48, son of late Itocha of Wangkhei Ningthem Pukhri Mapal today at around 1 am.
No one was injured but the windowpanes of his house were broken by the impact of the blast.
Meanwhile, a sit-in-protest was staged at Wangkhei Ningthem Pukhri Mapal by womenfolk of the locality denouncing the bomb attack.
Speaking to media persons at the sideline of the protest, a woman protester said that they condemn the act of exploding bomb at a residential and crowded area. “It has panicked the people of the locality,” she said and demanded clarification on why and who lobbed the bomb at the earliest.
