IMPHAL, NOV. 28 MNS : Eimi Times, a bi-lingual daily in Thadou-Kuki and English was officially launched yesterday at Kuki Inn, Imphal.
Pu Dr. S. Singsit (IFS Rtd), Chairman MPSC who graced the function as Chief Guest released the inaugural issue of the Eimi Times. Pu Lamminlien Vaiphei, Member of Manipur State Commission for Protection of Child Rights and Pu Peter Mate, President KSO – GHQ were present as Guest of Honour and President on the occasion respectively.
Owned and published by Ngamminlen Haokip at Bibis’ Home, 2nd Street New Lambulane Imphal, Shri Thangzalen Ringo Lhungdim is the Editor of the Eimi Times daily.
Speaking on the occasion, the Chief Guest and other speakers highlighted the importance of daily newspaper in this globalization era and exhorted theeditorial board members and the management committee to have tolerance and patience and to work with dedication and commitment. They appealed for concerted efforts of the ET staff to ensure the newspaper to disseminate information up to the aspiration of the people and also sought public support and cooperation for the daily’s survivor.
Pastors, Reverends, journalists and prominent dignitaries also took part on the occasion. Renowned singers like Pu Maneithangza, Thethem and Helam entertained the gathering with their soul soothing and heart touching music and songs.
