MNS: The whereabouts of two employees of HVS brick farm Patsoi are still unknown. The two employees were kidnapped on November 24 and abductors reportedly demanded Rs. 1.5 crores as ransom.
Officials and workers staged a sit-in against the abduction of Hawaibam Suresh, site supervisor, Khaidem Awang Leikai and driver of the excavator Md. Jaluddin Borbuiya, Cachar. They were kidnapped while returning to the farm from Keithelmanbi and KCP (M/C) Lamyanba Khuman kidnapped them for a monetary demand of Rs. 1.5 crores.
A protester said, the amount was settled at Rs. Five lakhs and as they directed employees of the farm, handed over the amount at Utlou Pukhri Mapan on December three at 7.30 a.m. but they didn’t release the abducted persons.
Meanwhile two employees including an army man were arrested for abducting state TB officer RK Lakhsana and his driver for a ransom of Rs. 20 lakhs near show room of Eastern motor last evening around 4.30 p.m.
They were arrested by a combined team of commandos of Imphal West and East.
The accused were posing as KCP while playing the kidnap drama.
They were identified as Khwairakpam Robi (30) Sekmai, Makha Leikai, navigating officer, Iraq rural auxiliary service, Khwairakpam NandaKishore alias Amujao (32) Sekmai Nongthonbam, an army service core posted in Bangalore .
Police recovered Rs. One lakh, one passport three ATM cards of SBI, two PAN cards, driving licenses from the duo.
During interrogation they revealed that while on leave in Imphal they posing as KCP planned to kidnap Dr. Lakhsana and also tried to leave Imphal in no time.
