Imphal, Dec 18: The C.M. O. Ibobi said, the state will be a powerful one only when the economy status of farmers increased. The state knows the strength of farmer. He was speaking as chief guest at the second day of the ninth state level orange festival held at mini stadium, Tamenglong district H/Q.
The mission of agriculture and horticulture is not treated as farming but it can be termed as an industry which can provide jobs.
Our govt. thinks NH 37 is an important one. This will enable passing railway line to different districts. It will also help transporting products of farmers to market. Therefore there will a major change in the district.
Presiding over the function, the Dy CM Shri Gaikhangam said, making tension among selves, there will be no benefit. It will be right way for all to have talks so that it can bring solution.
Altogether 250 stalls are taking part in the orange festival. MLAs Jamhenlung Panmei, Kikhonbou Nuwmai, O. Lukhoi, Karam Thamarjit, CS DS Poonia and MC Mary Kom also attended the function as guest of honours respectively.
The United Naga Council said it acknowledges the cooperation and solidarity of the general public of Tamenglong District towards making the call to abstain from participating in the state sponsored Orange festival a significant success. It acknowledged the support of the people.
