IMPHAL, Jan 18 NNN: Proprietor of Capital Watch and Co, Paona bazaar, Imphal has clarified to the media on Friday that the allegation made by his wife against him was unfounded and unsubstantiated.
Ramesh Kumar reacted to the allegation by his wife Telem Robita that he tortured and kicked her out from home which resulted in divorce of the couple.
Reacting to Robita’s allegation, Kumar told the media today let the offender be punished openly and that he was not afraid of any punishment he deserves if he has ever done wrong.
He said his family has been living in Imphal since 1937 and he was born here.
Kumar said he had never ill-treated or physically abused his wife. “Sobita is trying to take advantage of him because he is a non-Manipuri”, he charged.
“Robita had willingly left home which she made it known to me in a letter on February 24, 2012 and that she wanted to get divorce, 2012,” he claimed and added she has been living at her parental home since then.
“My three children are now in Dimapur, Nagaland where they are studying and that Sobita personally had gone once there and met with them, “ Kumar further said. He said he has never barred his wife from meeting their children.
He also denied the allegations of maintaining illicit relations with other women including one of his close relatives.
