Vehicles plying between Nagaland and Manipur continue to suspend their services as the situation at Jakhama area in Nagaland is still not ‘conducive’ to ply. On January 15, a Manipur bound truck had run over a college student at Jakhama area near the Nagaland state capital. Since then the vehicles plying between Nagaland and Manipur had stopped their services.
Actually, no organisation has imposed the bandh but due to tense situation the vehicles are not plying along the National Highway 2. R Tetseo, superintendent of police, Kohima said the district administration is trying its best to defuse the volatile situation. “Things are very sensitive and we are trying our best that things do not go out of control. However, we are hopeful that everything will be alright soon,” said the police officer. R Tetseo then said that series of meetings are being engaged in this connections so that normalcy returns.NNN
