Imphal, Feb 1 : A two day exhibition of Youth on handicrafts ( Yuva Kriti) and three day life skill education training organized by NYK Imphal at the DRDA hall, DC office, Lamphelpat concluded on Jan 31 last with L Tilotama Vice-Chairperson, NYKS Delhi as Chief Guest and N Ibungochoubi, former President MMTA as President.
Y Laksman Singh, District Youth Coordinator highlighted about objective of the Yuva Kriti and a brief report of the life skill education training. The DYC announced the proposed block level vikas mela in which there will be job fair/ saral Rojgar for the unemployed youths. Suitable skill development training programmes will be imparted to the youth in collaboration with the Indian Institute of Entrepreneurship.
L Tilotama inspected all the stalls of the yuva kriti and appreciated the exhibitors for producing qualitative products, showing their skill and creative ideas. She called upon the artisans to develop new techniques and technology to enable them provide more products within a short period so that they may get more profit.
There should be sustainable economy among women. Women should not be dependent upon their male counterparts. Empowerment of women will come when the women are self supportive and capable of taking part in decision making.
The VC gave away award for outstanding youth club to the Meijrao Lakpa Development club, Imphal West. She also distributed certificate to all the stall owners and the participants of the life skill education training.
In his presidential address N Ibungochoubi emphasizes the possibility of making Agarbati sticks with bamboo which is available in plenty in the state of Manipur. The family income will be accelerated by spending few hours in a day.
Jackie Ruivah, Zonal Director thanked the exhibitors and the participants of the life skill education for their positive response while participating in the Yuva Kriti and the training programme within a short notice.
