Imphal, Feb 4 (UNA): A 48-hour bandh which would cover the two main National Highways in Manipur has been called from 5 am of February 7 on Monday.
The total bandh in areas under Sadar Hills Autonomous District Council of Senapati district is going to be imposed by the Sadar Hills Chiefs’ Association (SAHILCA) pressing the state government to revoke an order issued in 2009 regarding the distribution of MGNREGS fund in the state.
SAHILCA has been demanding revocation of the order which shares the MGNREGS fund in hill areas as 25% to ADC and 25% circle MLA and remaining 50% to village authorities, general secretary Senpu Haokip of SAHILCA said after a meeting of the village chiefs was held at house of the Motbung village chief today.
