MNS: The Special Judge for CBI cases, Visakhapatnam(Andhra Pradesh) convicted Bhaben Mahanta, then Dy. Commandant, Central Industrial Security Force, CISF Unit, HPCL (VR), Visakhapatnam in a bribery case and sentenced him to undergo one year Rigorous Imprisonment with fine of Rs. 5,000/-.
The CBI investigation revealed that the accused was caught red handed while demanding and accepting a bribe of Rs.5,000/- from the Proprietor of a Travel Agency for not cancelling his Supervisor’s Pass and for allowing his hired cars to enter inside the premises of HPCL without any hindrance.
