Imphal, April 7 : L Mema has filed a RTI seeking information about drug hauls by security personnel and the actions taken up. She requested copies of orders- (i) order dated 5-5-2012 of the S.P Imphal West being no. 1/1/C-40/RO/2012 for establishment of Special Intelligence Unit (SIU) of Imphal West District and (ii) order dated 15-1-2013 of the the S.P Imphal West being no. 2/19/C-4/RO/2008 for abolishment of Special Intelligence Unit (SIU) of Imphal West District. Further, how many police personnel were utilised in the said SIU.
SIU Imphal West had seized huge contraband drugs worth Rs l,40,000,00 from Air Deccan Flight. When the information received was taken down in writing and when the same was informed to the immediate superior officer it was asked. Where the drug are kept it was asked. When the sample for the same was sent to FSL for chemical analysis and report.
On 15-2-2013, contraband drugs worth Rupees 1 crore 30 lakh were seized at Mantripukhri from a truck by the Imphal East Police.
On 24-1-2013, Imphal West Police had seized huge contraband drugs from one VDF of Imphal East Police.
On 1-2-2013, Thoubal Police had seized huge contraband drugs worth Rupees 45 lakh from Pallel area on the way to Moreh. On 24-2-2013, Thoubal Police had seized huge contraband drugs worth Rupees 25 crore from the possession of one Army Officer and six persons at Pallel area on the way to Moreh.
On 25-2-2013, Imphal West Narcotic Cell had seized huge contraband drugs worth Rupees 8 lakh from Air Cargo brought by one Rajkumar Rai of Bihar.
On 26-2-2013, Excise Department, Jiribam had seized huge contraband drugs worth Rupees 22 lakh while brought in a boat.
On 1-3-2013, Manipur Police had seized huge contraband drugs worth Rupees 18 lakh from thepossession of a Burmese (Myanmar national) .
On 6-3-2013, huge contraband drugs worth Rupees 2 crore 70 lakh were seized from 3 places of Thoubal District. On 10-3-201, huge contraband drugs (Heroine and Tablets) were seized from Pallel area from the possession of 3 persons including a Captain of the NSCN-Dvl.
On 10-3-2013, Police had arrested a Mobile Drug Smuggler with S.P Tablet from the Gambhir Singh Shopping Market. On 12-3-2013, huge contraband drugs worth Rupees 2 lakh was seized from the possession of a Havildar of 6th Bn. M.R. Details of the cases were demanded.
